    In my district there lives a man by the name of Johnny Langton. There is a tree in the middle of a field near his house and this is haunted by fairies. One day Johnny went out to cut down the tree.
    He was told by an old man living near, that it would not be safe to cut it down but he took no heed to the old mans advise but cut down the tree. every stroke a voice said "leave that alone" but he took no heed for a while as there was other men in the field & he thought they were saying it. when he had it just cut a little man appeared at the foot of it. He was about a foot tall & wore a red coat
