- The tailor uses a lapboard with which he presses the clothes & he uses an iron for pressing also. Brigid Fitzgerald Gowran knits socks etc & sells them to the people. People use machines in their own homes.
- There was a man in Gowran long ago named Mr White. He used to weave thread & make clothes in his home. He had the instruments & people used to get a lend of it.
