- Long ago there was an English soldier going riding along the road on his horse. He saw a crowd of Catholics down near the "Butts Cross" praying.Of course the soldier being a Protestant was going to scatter the Catholics, the horse fell down on her knees and the soldier was killed dead. In his memory his wife erected the Cross which is now called the "Butts Cross". The soldier's horse was buried under the "Cross".(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
