- A Story
A few fields away from our house there is a moat up on a height. There is an old tree just at it where a girl named Kathleen hanged herself. At the foot of this tree there is a hollow where the fairies enter the moat. The real entrance is closed by a granite rock. All round the moat there is a trench where water was long ago.
About three years ago while some men were hunting they came on what looked like a grave with a cross and wreath over it. But when it was dug no traces of anything was found.
Local people believed that it was someone who was shot by the Black and Tans.
