Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Height of churn - three feet by one and a half at the top, about two feet at the bottom. Sides were round. It was called the churn and dash.

    The dash was worked up & down until the butter was gathering; then it was rolled. When butter was cracked water was poured in. Butter was taken out with the hand; washed and salted.
    On May Day morning people had the idea that if you were up first on May morning and skim the local well you would have all the produce of the neighbourhood in your butter. People were often suspected of doing this
