    the wall & when meals were finished, it was turned up against the wall
    Meat was very seldom used. Colcannon was made on special occasions & eaten late at night. Pancakes were another special food. Eggs were eaten in great numbers on Easter Sunday. Tea became the custom about one hundred years ago.

  2. They used oats, wheat, rye & barley, ground & made into bread. Children were fed on porridge & boiled fish.
