- Processions were held from Church to houses after the marriage & then a feast. Straw & hay were spread for the man & woman to walk on.

Chalk Sunday is the first Sunday in Lent when men or women not marrying in Shorve would be marked with chalk.
People always make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday night.
