- In Mr Bergin's field in Chioctha-Beag there is a fairy fort and there are very big strong briars, and very weak bushes growing around it and whenever anyone anyone would cut the strong briars or trees they would surely get sick or get sore hands.
A long time ago a man named James Doran of Serchin aged fifty years years bought the field from Mr Bergin and he had a rick of hay in the field and this day he went and cut some of the strong briars to cover the rick and not knowing about it cut some of them and the worst of it was nobody saw the poor man going to cut them for if they did he would(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile) - Bailitheoir
