- In olden times this was done on Saint Patrick's Day the people made crosses on their arm. The first person up in the morning would put a furse bush in the fire. When it would be burned they take it out and put a cross on the left arm, of their coat they also shake (shook) Holy Water on the black stick.
On St. Brigid's day all the girls go around from house to house with a doll dressed in white to represent Saint Brigid. they would also have a towel and a sheaf of straw. The towel was to dry her face and the straw to clean her feet. The person that carries the doll is "she-eóg".- Bailitheoir
