- "St Stephen's Day". On that day the boys dress themselves in funny clothes and go with the wren. They march from house to house singing and playing music. They get money and they divide it among them. They buy sweets and cigarettes with the money. They have a special song for that day:
"The wren, the wren, the King of all birds,
St. Stephen's Day she was caught in the furze.
Up with the kettle and down with the pan,
Give us a penny to bury the wren."
"St Patrick's Day". The people wear Shamrock on that day.
"Shrove Tuesday". People visit the chapel often that day.
"Good Friday". The people fast and abstain from meat that day.
"Easter Saturday". People go to the chapel and get Easter water on that day.
"May Day"> Some people take the water off the top of the well day and go into a neighbouring farmer's field. The throw the water in his field and wish him the worst of luck in the coming year. It is called skimming the well.
"Feast of the Assumption". The people go to Lady's Well and bring home water.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
