The halter is always given away with cattle sold, because they must be tied in the waggon. It the halter is broken on the fair, the seller buys a new reins, which he presents to the buyer. - The local fairs are held in New Ross, Graignamanagh, Borris and Kilkenny. Most of the people of the Rower go to the fair of New Ross. May and October fairs are the best held in New Ross for the year.
Buyers came from all parts of the county to the fair. There is always a good stock of animals there. There are always a lot of pigs, cows, bullocks, heifers, and horses on the fair.
