The Curlew
The curlew is very common in the district. They build their nests in a bunch of heather. It lays four eggs and the four points are together always. Late in the evening when it lets three cries it is a sign of rain. The eggs are of a green colour with brown spots on them.

The Phesant
The phesant makes its nest on the ground and she lays about 14 eggs in it. They take a month to hatch.
The Grouse
It builds its nest in the heather and lays 13 eggs in it. The partridge lays 15 eggs.
The Philipeen
In the middle of a field the philipeen makes her nest. It would be a sign of rain to hear her.
The Crow
The crow's nest is build of sticks and in it she lays five eggs. When the crow comes home after her days outing it is a sign of rain if her wings are not flapping
