    St. Brigid's Day
    Shrove Tuesday they have pancakes. There are generally a few marriages, generally matches. They newly married couple either go for a drive for the day or have a dance in the house.
    On Ash Wednesday people go to Mass to get the Blessed Ashes.
    On Whit Sunday and Monday the Co. Wexford Feis is held either in Wexford, New Ross, or Eniscorthy.
    On May Eve the people get a bush - a furze bush - They decorate it with ribbons and coloured papers. They stick it in the manure heap. It is supposed to keep away evil spirits and to bring good luck for the year. It is left there until May is out.
    On St. John's Day bonfires were lit on the hilltops long ago. This custom is dying out
