    Red clouds in the north is the sign of rain and cold. Red clouds in the east is the sign of snow. Red clouds in the west is the sign of fine weather. Red clouds in the south is the sign of rain and storm.
    When there is a ring round the moon at night we are going to have rain.
    The stars glisten in the sky when we are to have frost.
    Dark clouds in the sky is a sign of rain. If the smoke goes up straight from the chimney it is a sign of fine weather and if it blows down on the ground it is a sign of wet weather.
    Rainbow at night is the shepherds delight. Rainbow in the morning is a sailors warning.
    Swallows fly high in fine weather and they fly low in bad weather.
    Wild geese fly in large flocks from east to west in very severe bad weather. Crows fly high and keep circling and turning somersault when a storm is approaching. Seagulls leave the coast and come inland when weather is going to be exceptionally severe. Ducks quack their loudest when rain is coming.
