  1. In the land which surround "Graigue House" in Co. Kilkenny recently occupied by Mr. Bowers there is a large well equal in size to the ponds generally seen in pasture fields. There is a large haw-thorn tree growing in the well and not far from it there is a stone slab with two hollows in it said to have been made by a saint kneeling on the stone. From these the blood of the saint gushes forth on certain days in Summer. The waters rise on either side of the slab but were never seen to cover it. Four small trees which never seem to grow are planted at each side of the well. It is the custom of the people when they visit the well to go round it four times and then before leaving they hang something how-ever small on the branches of the tree to commemorate their visit.
