  1. An old road ran from the towns land of Dournane to Polrone. A part of this old road is included in the present Polrone road which runs from the village of Mooncoin to the river Suir. The rest of it is at present used as a farming "bohereen".
It is said that funerals went by this road to the burial at Polrone. By the side of it and convenient to Dournane village are two stones on which coffins were rested. A farmer from Dournane removed those stones on three different occasions but each time on the following morning the stones were back to their original positions.
Edward Keeffe of Dournane states, that one night about twenty years ago he met a funeral on this "bohereen".
Fishermen state, they saw the bodies of two men they knew to be buried in this old "bohereen" one night.
