  1. On St. Stephen's Day people used to dress up and go round from house to house playing music, singing, and dancing. Old people went round to the houses in their own village, singing and dancing and they used to get some entertainment, and the young boys used get entertainment also, but nowadays they go round gathering money.
    People used make St. Brigid's Cross and hang it on the thatch of the house for protect of cows, milk, and butter. St Brigid's Cross was made of straw. Some people make it yet.
    Shrove Tuesday the day before Lent was also called pancake Tuesday, because people al over made pancakes on that night.
