At last the master of the house picking up courage ran forward and seizing poor Briany by the scruff of the neck demanded the cause of this untimely intrusion. Between stuttering adn stammering poor Briany told his story at last. The master of the house believed it and could hardly restrain his gratitude when he heard how Briany had saved his only daughter from being stolen by the fairies. When Briany asked him was he far from home he was told that he was in County Galway on the borders of Lough Carrib.
He stayed at the wedding that night but the next day he had to foot it back to Ballyfarnon. Ever afterwards he avoided the fairy fort after dark, and he(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
