    him calling. Where are you ring; the ring said I am on his finger, the giant made a grab for the boy but he could not catch him. He cried out again where are you ring, ring. The boy took the ring from his finger and threw it into the river, and the ring said. I am here, the giant made a plunge into the water and was drowned.
    The boy returned to the castle and remained there with the man who first let him in.
    This story was told by Pat Pender, Dromore and the castle is supposed to have been on the banks of the Shannon between Co Roscommon and Co Leitrim.
