    Travelling Folk
Travelling folk still call to my home. They have been doing so for quite a long period of time. They are of the poorest (call) class and sell small articles carried in a basket. Some people buy their wares. In olden times the travelling folk were welcomed and the people of the house used to arrange a bed of straw in the corner of the kitchen for them, but recently they set their tents in a sheltered place in the district and then they go from house to house selling their wares. Some of them travel on foot and others have bicycles. They go in pairs. The best known of them are the Heaneys, the Riellys and the McDonaghs.
