  1. Old Trades
There were many trades round here long ago.
A man named Peter Phillips who resided in Robertstown in a house next to the present National School was a nailer. His sister Mary Ann who lived with him used to help him. He sold nails by the hundred. There was such demand on the nails that one would make the nails by day and the other by night. He used to have the nails displayed in a gilt - lined (goold") dish.
    Told by Margaret Lyons
    Grangeclare, Kilmeague
There was a man living in Ballyteague who used to weave silk. His name was Warwick and old people called him "Warrick the weaver".
He would buy the silk thread and weave it and he would have the bales of silk
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
