A man one day was cutting down a lone bush for fencing on his farm in Grangeclare West, when a voice said "Are you going to take the only bit of shelter I have in the world from me".
The hatchet fell out of the man's hand with the fright he got, and when he reached home there wasn't a hair in his head but was white, after the fright he got.- Bailitheoir

- One time a stranger was found dead near Kilmeague and the people buried him inside the gate in Crosspatrick graveyard. They forgot to carry him around the graveyard 3 times and so if anyone entered the graveyard he would stand up on the grave and ask them where they were going (he was) or what was their business. But he could not stir out of where he was standing.
