“Some friars had a hut in Friar's Park...”
Some friars had a hut in Friar's Park on Miss Cribbin's farm in Lowtown.
- One evening a man was coming from afar. He met a cat. The cat got into the axle under the car and stayed there till they came to Milltown (Co. Kildare). The man stopped and went in to a public house. There were other men in the public house and they were starting drinks. The cat came in and said "I'll have a pint too". They gave him the porter on a saucer and he drank it. The cat went home with the man and stayed with him till he died.

To Allen Hill we did resort,
Now in this place tradition says,
Huge giants dwelt in ancient days,
Not far from here we heard a wail,
Twas like a war cry from a jail.
And turning round was this we seen,
A troop of horsemen dressed in green,
And as they vanished fast away,
These were the words we heard them say,
"We'll ride abroad from shore to shore
(forgotten -->)..............
And their in peace go to our graves
That all our sons may live at aise"
