- During the time of the Black-and-Tans a man a man was shot by one of his fellow Black-and-Tans in Kilcock. He really was not a Black-and-Tan but he helped them. When the Black-and-Tans left Ireland this man settled down in Kilcock. This man was told by a voice one night that he dare not cross the railway bridge of Kilcock, after dark as he would be thrown into the canal nearby. But he never minded this warning and cross the bridge with a lamp in his hand and was thrown into the canal.
