  1. My home district is in Leixlip in the parish of Maynooth and the Barony of north Sault.
There are about twenty people in my townland of Barn Hall and about six families.
All the houses are slated. It got its name from the two barns that are there. One is Barn Hall owned by Mr. Rollenson, and the other is the "Wonderful Barn" owned by my grandfather.

The "Wonderful Barn" was built in 1749 by the Connollys of Castletown. It is five stories high. There are three little windows in each story, one facing the north, another south, and another west. In the second story there is a big iron wheel, and a chain around it, and a handle which lets the chain down and up. It was used for taking up goods, such as oats, barley, potatoes, maize, where they were stored. It is not used now.
There are a few people over seventy living there. They do not know Irish. The land is good.
