The population in Kildare was far greater then it is now. A great number had to go to the unions 60 able body young men was marchedto Dublin and put into an Emigration ship and no - body knows where they went to nor they never got tale ortrace of one f them. It was supposed that the British let the ship out into the sea. We have edivance (let) of the country been populated the ruins of all houses and walls.
