For "an Triuc" ferret's leavings are given to the child who suffers from whooping cough.
If a ferret is kept in a house 10 miles away somebody is sent with milk to the ferret and it is taken away from the ferret when he has part drunk and the lavings as the remaining part of the milk is called is given to the child affected.
This was done in Kenmare town a couple of years ago and the child was a return American born of Irish parents and there was no better cure to be had at the apothecary shop than "ferrets lavings" which cured the sufferer.

I see I have this given here already
Most of this Beal Oideas was written across my knee from house to house so please excuse scribble etc.
