    Mrs Moriarty's nephew died in Ardgroom at the time she told the story about 1822 or around that.

    Mrs Moriarty's nephew died in Ardgroom at the time she told the story about 1922 or around that. She went to the wake the previous day to which the story relates. And as she had to go to this shop of Mrs Susan's for meal + flour she came home from the wake early so as to be fresh next day to start "to the shop" which is 15 miles at least from Mrs Moriarty's house in Glenmore. A donkey and cart she drove in and on going home she met a side-car on the road above in Carraig ai Nine near a little glaise where a bridge stands at present. This spot is only a stone-throw from Sean OSullivan's (Archivist) house in Dirreloughy.
    Well she saw the side-car coming down the hill and nearing her and she drew her donkey into the dyke to let it pass. There she saw two or three men
