Dan Downing Lohart Tuosist Kenmare always told and still relates the following story. He is eighty five years now & he says he & his brothers & sisters & parents were saying the Rosary one night late when they heard a crash of glass & on looking up they noticed the panes of the kitchen window in the middle of the sill in smidiríní (smithereens). Dan got up & called out his two dogs & searched day agus an dóigh but never found or heard afterward of any stranger man or beast passing the way. so they concluded that it was a most mysterious happening. His home then was on the side of the Caha's (Caha Mountains) in a place called Euragh right north of Loc na Péiste, agus i nGleann Inchiquin, Tuosist.
Here on the hills is to be seen plainly the shape of this terrible Píast ever since he was shot there when leaving the lake. He died on the side of the hill close by where his shape is still shown.
