- Long ago a family of the Browne's lived at Castlefarm. They had a widow's son employed in the farmyard. One day a pig disappeared and the boss accused the boy of stealing the pig, and it was the custom in those days that a person would be hanged for theft and it fell to the lot of the widow's son. He was hanged in a field near the farmhouse which is now called the Faha.
The poor widow heartbroken knowing her son was innocent and on bended knees cursed the Browne family for seven generations.
A few weeks after the gentleman was riding over the mountain on horseback and he fell from his horse and was killed. And a few months after the pig came out of a cave at Roxbourgh.
