- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)rob some rich gentleman. The gentleman resisted and got badly wounded. When the robbers were leaving the gentleman was lying on the floor bleeding profusely. His wife was screaming in terror. The robbers had not gone far when Jack Larkin returned to the house and put the gentleman to bed and helped the wife to bandage him.
The robbers were afterwards brought to justice. The gentleman's wife asked that Jack Larkin be let go free. Her request was granted. The others were sentenced to terms of imprisonment. Jack is supposed to have led a good life ever afterwards.
- One day the hunt was passing through the farm of Michael Larkin, Boulia. MacNamara, Inspector of Schools, was among the huntsmen. The Inspector fell off his horse. Michael Larkin saw what happened and went and caught horse. When MacNamara came up he accused Michael of breaking the bridle. It was the horse that broke the bridle. Michael was highly indignant at being falsely accused and immediately accused MacNamara of breaking a wooden water-trough that was across a gap. The old trough was useless and broken(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
