Daniel The Pedlar - There was once an old man by the name of Daniel The Pedlar. He had such mind for tea that some people called him "Daniel the tay". He went from house to house and in every house he made tea for himself. When he stayed in a house at night he slept on sacks full of hay or straw.
He was very fond of card playing and the boys had great fun playing tricks on him such as pretending to steal his tea and sugar out of the old sack which he kept them in. His real name was Daniel Brosnan. When he was leaving each house he said " God increase ye, long life to ye and good day to ye all.
Mary the Moonlighter - There was an old woman called Mary the Moonlighter because she stayed out all night talking to the fairies. She was seen once picking mortar out of an old wall and saying look at them all the little fairies. If she saw a child she would say "you're a bad breed". Her name was Mary O'Connor.
Mick Lynch - There was a man by the name of Mick Lynch or "Mickey wan leg" as some people called him. He had only one leg.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
