Long ago a lot of people believed in Superstitions.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
left they thought it a sign of death in the house. When there was lightning they threw the tongs across the fire. On May morning they would go out at daybreak and clean the well and they would not lend steel or iron on that day for fear of bad luck.

There was an old house in Cloughfin called "John Charley Keenan's." There were two rooms and a kitchen in it and it was surrounded by trees.
The people who lived in it are all dead now and Frank McKenna has it.
They used to keep seven dogs in the house. There were a lot of crows at it and they would not let them be put away. The house was badly thatched and when it rained the water came in. When all of them died the house fell but the walls of it are still there.
