- The kinds of bread made in olden times were boxty bread, potato cake, and oat-meal bread. Boxty bread was made by grating the raw potatoes into a basin or a crock. Then they are squeezed in a linen bag. Then they are mixed with a few boiled potatoes and some flour, and some sweet milk carvey to make it taste sweet. Then this is mixed together and baked on a hot griddle. Potato cake was made from hot potatoes, flow and some salt. The hot potatoes are mashed with the bottom of a tin on a baking board. Then this is mixed with some flour and salt. When it is mixed it is rolled thin and cut into farls and baked on a hot pan. Oat meal(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
