- Once upon a time there was a man who was married and he had no money he was a shoe maker. He went out to Dundalk and started to shout a cobler cobler cobler. He got a job in a house he got two shillings and he went on until he earned two pound and four pound and he bought an ass for two pounds and when he was coming home he had forests to go through and he was afraid he would meet the robbers and he tied the other two pounds in the asses mane. He was coming along with the ass and he met the robbers and they started to rob him. The ass shook himself and the two pound fell out and the cobber told the robbers that every time the ass shook himself money would fall out and the robbers bought the ass off the cobler for a lot of money. The robbers went home with the ass and the head man had to get him first and cobler told him to put a nice carpet under him and when he got up in the morning the carpet was(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
