  1. Old Songs

One fine starry night and the moon shining grand bright,

John Dermody, Sart, Freshford composed the following song. The reason he composed this was because some to the boys around Bootstown used to go around playing some sort of music every night.
One fine starry night and the moon shining grand bright,
We all formed up in th big Bootstown band,
From the pillar we started, Jack Neary and all,
And we played lovely music going down by Whitehall.
On arriving near the borough, we got orders to silence our band,
And to look for the bombs we had hid in the sand.
