There is a field in Corbettstown about six miles from the city of Kilkenny where treasure is supposed to be hidden. The field gets its name from a hole which was dug when searching for the treasure and which is still to be seen.
A story is told that a man named Jim Delaney who lived in Kilmadum dreamt about the money and he and two others agreed to go and look for it. They told the priest first and then they took holy water and a blessed candle and went to the field. In his dream Jim Delaney was told that they would first come to a trench where they would find some coppers.
