Ar an leathanach seo
- The principal kinds of bread made long ago were potato bread, boxty + oaten bread. FLour was not used. The meal was made at the local mill and this with the potatoes was used in bread-making.
Usually the bread was made at teh beginning of each week and this lasted for the whole week.
The bread was mostly cooked in front of the fire on a support called a "bread-iron."
Griddle bread was also made.
