  1. A man was sentenced to be hanged in Monaghan town & he would be reprieved if 100 maol dun calves could be got from the same house. They were driven from a house in Coravilla in the Parish of Aghabog.
    It is supposed that the chieftain McMahon of Monaghan had one of his residences in this townland.
