A Song
“The sun may go down in the East love,”
The following song was composed by master Courtney who taught in Tattenclave school. Going home he fell off his bicycle. When he found the fall was going to prove fatal he wrote the following lines to his sweet - heart who lived in Latnamard.
The sun may go down in the East love,
And the morning may fade like the dew,
And the shamrock shall cease to be green Iove, When I lose my remembrance of you, When I lose my remembrance of you love, When I lose my remembrance of you love, When I lose my remembrance of you, And the shamrocks shall cease to be green love, When I lose remembrance of you.
Had I a heart to divide it, O' how could I break it in two, Then take it away it is thine love, I never loved any but you, I never loved any but you love, I never loved any but you, Then take it away it is thine love, i never loved any but you.
