  1. A Song

You nymphs and swains of this Irish nation,

The following song was made about a maiden from Rockcorry Town.
    The Maid from Rockcorry Town
    One evening ranging for recration,
    By Mr Curray's handsome demense,
I heard a youth making his declaration
Which showed his bosom was set on flame,
The early lark was aloft descending,
And other small birds sang sweet around
With melodious notes Currays groves seemed rending
To hail the maid from Rockcorry Town.
You nymphs and swains of this Irish nation,
Come pay attention both one and all,
Until these few lines I now make mention
praising a maid did my heart enthrall.
Her name at present I will decline it
Should snarling critics upon me frown,
Her habitation you can easily find it
For she resides near Rockcorry Town.
I would describe this bright gem of nature,
Where I adequate with my feeble pen,
(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
