  1. Ned Connolly was blacksmith for this parish to about a year ago. He was there for about thirty years and there was six generations there before him. He was the seventh and he had the cure of the rickets. People went to him and were cured.
    People used to ceilidhe in the forges long ago. Every blacksmith has in their forge anvil bellows, tongs, iron of all sorts, knives for dressing hooves, hammers for driving nails, rice for holding hot irons,
