  1. Festival Customs.
    On St. Stephen's Day a number of boys come together and they go round to the houses where they sing songs and play music. They get a little money at each house with which that buy a football or a fiddle. The song that is sung is:
    The wren, the wren, the king of all birds

    Get up Landlady and shape your feet,

    On Easter Sunday the children have a feast outside in the open air. They boil eggs and make tea.
    On May Eve May flowers are gathered and thrown at the doors and windows. This is done to keep the Fairies away.
    On Hallow Eve night there is great sport. An apple is hung from the ceiling and each person has to try and
