  1. Mumps.
My father has the cure for mumps. This is a disease children take, and their jaws swell up. He gets the person who has the mumps and puts a pair of donkey winkers on him and he leads him into the pig sty nine times and says pigs! pigs! take care of the mumps, mumps! mumps! take care of the pigs. Then the mumps go away.
    Whitlow.
Joseph Hughes of Drumakill has the cure of the whitlow. He gives a poultice in a tin box and it is black in colour. The one who has the whitlow puts it on it and it is supposed to cure it.
    Swelling.
A poultice of hot chickweed is used by many for a swelling and goose "same" is also a fine remedy for a swollen joint.
