  1. The main road in our district is Newtownhamilton to Castleblayney and from it branches the Keady Cullhana and Crossmaglen and there are many other little branches too numerous mention. The roads were nearly all made by Romans.
    There is still a fine old roads in used such as "Manarus Lane". Huggards Tullyhattinga and Skerrymore lane. The work now a days is hard for the rates. Some of it is called relief grant. The roads at this present day are in a bad state.
    The roads are all cemented and tarred in the six counties in olden times the rivers were crossed by fords but today the fords are over them and bridges on them.
