- One night Patrick Connolly was coming home from his work and he had to pass by Gartlona fort. While he was going over the fort he saw a very small wee man standing beside him with a broken churn-staff in his hand and he asked Patrick to mend it. The little fairy says "I would'nt ask you only I think you are a trades-man because you have a lot of carpenter tools with you. So Patrick said he would mend it. When he was finished mending it the little fairy gave him bread and butter.
