  1. There was a man one time coming from the fair of Castleblayney with a horse and cart. Night fell on him and at a dangerous turn in the road about two miles from his own home the horse scared and turned the cart on top of him.
    Immediatley after the cart was turned he saw a woman's hands appearing under the side of the cart, she just gave it a lift with one hand and put everything right again. When the man got to his geet he did not know how to express his thanks to her. He asked her her name, or where was she that she knew to come to his assistance; he said he never could thank her well enough.
    She said that there was one request she would ask and if he did not do as she bade him she would be killed before twelve o'clock the following night. He said he would do anything he possibly could for her.
    She then told him she was stolen away by the fairies the saturday night before and that they would be going through his street the following night riding on grey horses, she would be on
