    He was 86 years old when he died.
    The most of this matter was got from my mother Mary Keane Lealey (?) who was 82 years old when she died in Sept. 1937. I got some of the pieces from Mr. Pat McCarthy. N.T. Abbeyfeale who got them from his father who was a neighbour of old Séamus's

    A dozen years has now clapsed...

    The following I got from Con Greaney, A native of Toureen Eochaidh. It was composed by Pilibin Lane, the War hawk who came back from America to find old Keane banished and the gardens destroyed.

    To my surprise as I passed by
    That once green verdant shade,
    Where nymphs and swain's used sport and play
    Their hearts to recreate.
    To find it laid a desert bare
    Exposed to stormy gales
    While that noble sage of bardic fame
    Lay mouldering in the clay
