The Staters captured Seamus, and he won a martyr's crown.
On the 27th day of March in the year of '23.
His life-blood he gave for his country to save

He calmly stood among his foes on the lonely mountain-side
While his captors stood beside him, those gentle words he cried
"You may do with my body whatever you wish
But my spirit shall ever be free."
