- “Gleann Sciobóil”
In Cordal there is a deep glen called “Gleann Sciobóil”. It got its name during Cromwell's time in Ireland. Four or five families of poor Catholics lived in little houses near the glen.
Cromwell's soldiers hunted these men through the glen. The people prayed and at that moment a shed opened over them which shielded them from the soldiers. When the latter went the shed vanished and eversince it is called
